Our clinic has three categories of medical professionals who specialize in different fields of mental health and developmental problems. All of our professionals, if given consent by parents/guardians, will be in close contact with school professionals to ensure that the client’s development is generalised and well supported. We work as a multidisciplinary team and our medical professionals oversee all cases, providing regular follow up sessions with clients including those who have been referred to other therapists. Our medical professionals have regular meetings with therapists to update and discuss the progress of each client.
Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists provide medical assessment, diagnosis and treatment. They also provide parent training and therapy to children and adolescents with various mental health problems such as inattention, aggression, anxiety, depression, adjustment issues, school refusal, lack of confidence, academic underachievement and other behavioural problems. Clients, following assessment and parental discussion, may be referred to one or more of our therapists, psychologists or counsellors. Referrals to other professionals may be for specific psychological testing or for on-going intervention/therapy.
Developmental and Behavioural Paediatricians deal with younger children with various developmental problems and provide medical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment. They also provide parent training and on-going follow-up sessions to monitor the child’s progress. Children with conditions such as Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASDs), learning problems, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), speech delay, gross and fine motor delay, lack of social skills typically consult our paediatricians before being referred to one or more of our therapists. Monthly meetings are held for the Early Intervention Team, led by our Developmental and Behavioural Paediatrician to discuss progress of our clients and to plan future goals among all professionals for each client.
Adult Psychiatrists deal with adults with clinical disorders (Mood Disorders, Depressive Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorders, Psychotic Disorders, Personality Disorders, Adjustment Disorders), those going through life changing experiences such as divorce, grievance or loss as well as drug abuse and insomnia. Our adult psychiatrists assess, diagnose, and provide medication treatment and psychotherapy. If some clients need a specific form of psychotherapy, they may be sent to other professionals for regular therapy, whilst being overseen by our psychiatrist.
